2. Sex

We know what you’re thinking- that people addicted to sex are often unfaithful, cheating men and women who are finding it very difficult to keep their pants on. And while it is true that some sex addicts might cheat, the truth is often far more upsetting.
In reality, a lot of cheaters blame their supposed sex addiction in order to avoid repercussions for their actions. When they do this they give the people who need actual, real help (real sex addicts) a bad name. The stigma associated with such actions may make it difficult for people to seek treatment.
Now, back to the issue at hand!
Sex addiction is considered to be one of the most destructive types of addictions out there. Likely because it’s so taboo, people don’t often talk about it. Bizarrely, most addicts don’t feel any sort of pleasure after sexual acts, whatever their nature may be. Instead, they will feel an overwhelming sense of guilt and shame.
In its most mild forms, sex addicts will turn to masturbation. Other than compulsive masturbation, though, they will have a fixation on sex, making it difficult for them to focus on anything else such as day-to-day activities, chores, tasks, or even work. They may experience some aggressive sexual behaviors which could even lead to rape. Others will seek out multiple anonymous sexual partners.
In the case of sexual assault or rape, the person suffering from this addiction will likely face charges as well.
There may or may not be an obvious cause that would make a person seek out sexual acts compulsively. The addiction can be treated but, sadly, a lot of people don’t even realize they’re suffering from it before it’s too late. Again, this shouldn’t be confused with sexual promiscuity and vice versa.
