Deadly Nightshade
Sometimes known as belladonna, meaning “beautiful lady”, the deadly nightshades (Atropa belladonna) dark green leaves, beautiful purple, bell-shaped flowers, and black-red berries may be pleasant to look at, however, the toxins that can be found in this plant are anything but. Found in Europe, North Africa and western Asia, the deadly nightshade is now a common sight all over the United States
It not only contains three tropane alkaloids but also has a whole host of other toxic ingredients which can cause a laundry list of complications for any human that ingests literally any part of this plant (the roots being the most potent). The black-red berries are the most common way to be poisoned as people who are unaware of the dangers pick and eat them. At first you get a sweet and pleasant taste, what come next is the complete polar opposite of pleasant.
Upon ingesting any of the deadly nightshade, you will first experience extreme thirst, difficulty swallowing and breathing, blurred vision, vomiting, rapid heartbeat, slurred speech, hallucinations, and delirium. Not long after that you will start violently convulsing before falling into a coma and dying soon after that.
