9. Cleaning the floor under furniture
Don’t sweep something under the rug! Take into consideration those bags of dust, debris, and grime. All that is actually hiding under tables, chairs, and couches. Move them to clean your hardwood floor properly.
“Anything you can quickly slide to the side to vacuum and mop when you’re cleaning your floors should be moved, and when it comes to bigger items, you can easily use the wand or hose feature on your vacuum,” says Janus.
Try cleaning the floor under the furniture at least two times a month.

I agree that we forget to clean some of these things. But credit cards? Library cards, etc? These things have been in my wallet for 50 years and they never made me sick.
Or so you think. Do you never get sick?
Most all of these I do, but not EVERY TIME I clean. Door handles, ledge space over doors are also well over looked places. Enjoyed
Don’t forget the removable filter inside the fan above your stove.
I agree. I put mine in the dish washer, and they are clean.
Very helpful tips. I will add into my cleaning routine. I keep baking soda in the freezer but didn’t think about cleaning the freezer with it.
I clean one shelf in my fridge each Monday, and the freezer compartment when there are five Mondays in the month. The trash goes out Monday night, so if there are things that need to be disposed of, it’s easy to move them from the fridge to the trash can.
Excellent suggestions. Thank you.
It would be nice if we all had time and energy to clean as often as you suggest. I do spring and Fall cleaning religiously, that’s the only time the furniture gets moved. I am 77, that’s part of the problem, I don’t have the same motivation as when I was 40.
While you are at it..clean that toothbrush..maybe soaking it in mouthwash for awhile. Also clean your hairbrush…I soak mine in hot water, a drop of soap and a drop of bleach.
The first time you tackle that neglected fridge or freezer have a large empty dog food or cat food bag handy to drop all the old food and gunk into.
I agree with cleaning credit cards. Yesterday, for example, 3 different people handled my credit card because of the setup their business had with their credit card machine. I like businesses that have their machines set up so I can slide or insert my card.
