Back when Barack Obama ran for president, plenty of people questioned his origins (known as the Birther Movement). But very, very few people brought up the fact that Donald Trump has recent German and Scottish origins!
Mary Anne MacLeod, his mother, was born on the Isle of Lewis, Scotland. His grandfather was from Kallstadt, Pfalz, in Germany! So while some people might say he has old-school American views, it’s important to remember that his heritage is a little more diverse!
Would you have guessed that his foreign origins were so recent? Probably not, especially due to his stance on immigration.
