1. A former prisoner posted selfies after he escaped prison
A man who escaped from the Payette County prison in Idaho was arrested by some US officials after he posted some selfies from a resort he went to on Instagram.
The man is named Nicholas Grove and he ran away in 2014 after he climbed on a fence. One of the officials stated that social media was a really good help for them, due to the fact that the fugitive shared his story on Facebook.
2. A teenager posted a selfie with his victim on Snapchat
A teenager named Maxwell Marion Morton shared a selfie with him and his victim, Ryan Mangan, on Snapchat. He sent the photo that was supposed to appear for no more than 7 seconds to several people on his list, but he didn’t take into consideration that someone might screenshot it.
He shot his friend in the face and in the selfie you can clearly see that the aggressor doesn’t feel sorry about this behavior. The good thing is that he was charged with first-degree murder in Pennsylvania.
3. Dutch girls threatened American Airlines
A 14-year-old Dutch girl named Sarah posted a disturbing message on Twitter, saying “hello my name’s Ibrahim and I’m from Afghanistan. I’m part of Al Qaeda and on June 1st I’m going to do something really big”.
Even though she wanted her message to be only a joke, American Airlines took it very seriously. They responded and told her that they take threats very seriously and that her IP address and personal details would be sent over to security and the FBI.
When she read the message, she got scared and she tried to undo things by saying she is just a girl and she doesn’t want to involve her parents in this. After a short while, Sarah went to the police and turned herself in. As a result, she was charged with posting a false or threatening statement.
