The move to Sandringham

After Queen Victoria’s death in 1901, her successor King Edward VII moved the festivities to Sandringham in Norfolk, a tradition that was upheld by the Queen’s grandfather, George V, who hailed the estate as “the place I love better than anywhere else in the world”. It remains the festive royal base up to the present day and the staff take great care to ensure that it’s fit for a royal Christmas.
