In the 1840s and 50s, Queen Victoria and her family would always spend Christmas at Windsor Castle, which was their principal royal residence, continuing up until Albert’s death in 1861. Queen Victoria spent the rest of her Christmases at Osborne House on the Isle of Wight, off the south coast of England.
