The presidency of Thomas Jefferson wasn’t his proudest achievement.
Thomas Jefferson, the third president of the United States, wanted to be remembered as the Father of the University of Virginia and the author of the Declaration of American Independence. He accomplished so many things during his lifetime, but his presidency wasn’t his proudest achievement, as most would assume.
The shortest president? James Madison!
James Madison, the fourth president of the United States, was the shortest president. It is said that he was just 5’4″ and weighed approximately 100 pounds. Also, during his lifetime, numerous physicians described him as being very fragile. Unlike the others, Madison was frequently ill, his cause of death being heart failure.
