Rutherford B. Hayes implemented the annual Easter Egg Roll.
Today we can say that Rutherford B. Hayes’ presidency was indeed full of ‘firsts.’ Due to him, we now have the annual Easter Egg Roll. He’s the one who created this tradition back in 1878. It all happened when some kids approached him asking if he likes the idea of an Easter egg roll. Unsurprisingly, he loved it!

The first White House occupants with electricity were Benjamin Harrison and his wife, Caroline. However, because everything was new for them, the couple was actually afraid of electricity, thinking that they would be electrocuted when switching lights. In other words, the wonders of electricity went down the cable.
