5. Renovation Debris
Cleaning up is one of the most overlooked aspect when it comes to a home renovation project. As a matter of fact, renovation debris can be hazardous. Nails, shards of glass and splintered wood can endanger people and animals, but there are other things such as asbestos-containing materials that can be fatal.
Eamon Lynch, director of warranty service at Power Home Remodeling, recommends doing a sweep of the area as soon as work concludes for the day. Check everything and rely on a magnetic sweeper that picks up any metal objects. He also suggests wearing close-toed shoes, mask and gloves until the area is free.
