1. Garlic

Everyone knows that when the recipe calls for one clove of garlic, you should use more. Because garlic is just that good! But what more can it do besides elevating your dishes? Well, garlic continues to prove how good it is. It is believed in numerous cultures that garlic can protect you from evil spirits and even vampires!

Whether you hang it out in your baby’s room to ward off evil spirits, you eat it to keep yourself safe from vampires, or you carry it in your pocket to protect yourself against the Evil Eye, garlic’s always got your back covered!

2. Bread

This one is a bit spooky. If you cut a loaf of bread and find a big hole in it, the superstition has it that someone you know will pass away. It’s because the hole represents a coffin. Obviously, it is just an air bubble from the proofing process, but it does not make it all any less ominous.

3.  Noodles

All of us have struggled with long noodles at one point, yet, you have to resist the temptation to cut them into smaller pieces. According to the Chinese tradition, you cannot cut the long noodles as they represent long life and it would be like cutting away years from your life. Don’t worry if you accidentally slurp while eating them though, it is said to bring about longevity!
