#11 Tweet: Gilbert Gottfried tweeted jokes about the Japan disaster
Back in 2011, Japan suffered a lot due to an 8.9 magnitude earthquake and tsunami, leading to 3,000 deaths and extraordinary damages. Well, that’s when American actor and stand-up comedian Gilbert Gottfried thought it’s about time to tweet some jokes about Japan.
Some of them included: “Japan is really advanced. They don’t go to the beach. The beach comes to them.” What can we say… we understand that he’s a comedian, but joking about someone’s suffering is totally inappropriate, if not offending. He eventually apologized, losing his job as the longtime voice of the iconic Aflac Duck.
