4. Household and Yard Products
You shouldn’t leave your paint thinner, weed killer, fertilizer or any other household or yard product outdoors. Why so? Because they can quickly deteriorate when exposed to heat and cold, and there’s always the risk that your child or grandchild or pet could be poisoned by ingesting something toxic.
In fact, you don’t have to accidentally drink from a paint thinner container to end up in the ER, because inhalation of gases, vapors, dusts or mists is also a common route of exposure. Remember to always store home maintenance products in a secure, dry area which should be inaccessible to children and pets.
