Unsurprisingly, Warren Buffet also plans on giving away the majority of his wealth. He, Bill, and Melinda gates came up with the Giving Pledge together. So, what does the Orache of Omaha think about this kind of extreme philanthropy?
Buffet’s quote on the Giving Pledge reveals quite a lot about how he sees his wealth in comparison to what other people had. He said that if he were to use more than 1% of his claim checks on himself, he wouldn’t feel happier, and his well behind wouldn’t be enhanced either.
On the other hand, Buffet also points out how the remaining 99% of his wealth could have a huge impact on others and their welfare, so picking to give away most of it is a no-brainer.
