As the party reached its 100th birthday, the global influence of China’s ever growing hegemony is coming sharper into focus as America looks over its shoulder at a China coming ever closer in the race to not just be the world’s biggest economy but its newest superpower.
Xi has been projecting a more nationalistic and assertive China on the world stage and has actively cultivated stronger relations with Russia, particularly in the wake of the Ukraine crisis of 2014. So, with relations between the US and China souring in recent times over trade, espionage, and the pandemic, With Mr. Xi praised his people for the “new world” he said they had created, how that world will affect the rest of the world, only time will tell.
