4. Saks Fifth Avenue

We all know just how sad last year was when we had to celebrate Christmas in a different setting, and homesickness suddenly got away more real than we could have imagined. This year Saks Fifth Avenue wants to put emphasis on reconnecting, on being able to spend the holidays with your loved ones.

When they built their display, they talked with the kids throughout the city and asked them to draw what their holiday dream with their loved ones looked like. Anything their little imagination wanted, only for the designers to then bring their dreams to life! They made them a reality in the form of the displays in the store and now anyone who visits them can see and get inspired themselves.

This year, make your own dream come true!

5. Brookfield Place Luminaries

Designed by LAB at Rockwell Group, the Luminaries display is back again this year, ready to enchant you like it did the years before! The colorful lantern display is mesmerizing and the new experience added in, entitled Maestro, is sure to bring joy from the older to the younger generations alike!

The Brookfield Place installation with the implemented experience allows the visitors to conduct the canopy of lanterns just how a conductor would, letting everyone make up their own unique light show on holiday tunes. Moreover, they also have preset shows at every hour on the dot, so whenever you are bound to arrive, it will be a blast. Make sure you check out the times it operates though because even if it is available until the 2nd of January for about 10 hours, it is not accessible every day.

Make your plans ahead so you can have the best experience. Aaand, music, Maestro!

6. Hudson Yards

Hudson Yards does things a bit differently than the other shops we have here on our list, but you will not miss the cute reindeer and the color explosion. They put on a different kind of show to get you in the mood for the holidays: they have dancers!

Every Saturday, the West Side mall employs the dance company founded by the Radio City Rockette Purdie Baumann, called the Safrina’s, to dance in the Great Room every week Saturday through the 18th of December! What more can you ask in the spirit of Christmas than having talented ladies put on a show on classic NYC tunes like Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York” and the timely opening number of “On the town” of Bernstein.

Their seasonal outfits and amazing performances are sure to put you in the mood for Christmas, together with the rest of Hudson Yards’ Shine Bright festivities. So make sure you check their program if you are around on a Saturday as you can both enjoy the show and do some seasonal shopping!
