American Prairie Reserve, Montana

Visit the American Prairie Reserve in Montana to enjoy a true nature getaway unlike no other. This reserve plans on ‘stitching’ around 3.5 million acres of protective nature. Since 2005, the base has collected more than 405,000 acres.

It’s home to animals that historically called the Great Plains home, so expect to see bears, elks, bears, deer, and bison. Luckily, humans are welcome too on one of several campgrounds!

Here you’ll get the chance to cross paths with a herd of some 800 bison. Lucky for you, you might see some salves in late April, too! On top of land-dwellers, you’ll also get the chance to experiment with bird-watching more than 150 different species.

On top of wildlife viewing, you can go biking, hiking, horseback riding, and night-sky viewing. If you live in the city, however big or small, you’ll never see the night sky properly due to light pollution. That’s why here you’ll finally get the chance to look at the Milky Way with no obstructions.
