6. Playing CDs
The days of buying a new CD at the mall are over for a lot of people. If you want to listen to the newest, coolest tracks then you can easily subscribe to a streaming music service.
Having all their favorite music in one place instead of divided between several CDs definitely makes more sense, and they don’t have to deal with that annoying, impossible to get through, cellophane wrapper either!
7. The ‘pound Sign’
OK, so the pound sign isn’t exactly going to die out, but even kids nowadays don’t know the origins of it, so we’re willing to bet that kids born nowadays will have an even harder time understanding that it wasn’t always known as a ‘hashtag’.
While the symbol is sometimes used to indicate a number, it was more importantly used to indicate pounds. When Chris Messina, a software developer, said the symbol could be used to organize topics, the ‘hashtag’ was born, all thanks to Twitter in 2007.
The symbol has nothing to do with measuring weight, it just happened to be easy to access on Messina’s 2007 Nokia phone and the rest is history!

We still have our land line. It costs a fraction of what people pay for cell service, it never needs to be recharged, and I don’t have to go looking for it!
