A rattlesnake
Yes, you read that right. A rattlesnake that was just slithering inside a bag. Not only was the snake inside a suitcase, but it was also alive! We do not know what type of person decides to just put a live snake inside their bag and then check it in, but they were definitely not sound of mind! Smuggling animals inside countries is a felony, not to mention the horrible conditions you are putting that poor animal through.
The snake was in luck though because they can survive without food for a long time, as it can take up to 3 months for the suitcases to get to Unclaimed Baggage. The workers, on the other hand, weren’t so lucky and had the scare of a lifetime!
Primitive wooden spoon
You would think that such an item belongs in a museum. But it was actually found in a bag that was lost. What is even more impressive is that the company decided that it is fit to be re-sold. If wooden utensils are your jam, you can get a brand new one from the internet or furnishing stores for a few bucks and it comes with the perk that it is not presumably ancient and of questionable ownership. But this “primitive” wooden spoon was sold for presumably $25,99, even though it showed “signs of wear” and no one knew where it came from.
Makes us think that it was not as old as they made it seem, or they did not know what they had on their hands. Other items ended up in their own museum, but what about this one?
1814 Vintage Beethoven Sheet Music Germany
Imagine putting something this old in your checked baggage. We would never dream of it, but this person actually did it. In 2020, the people working at the sorting facility found in one of the bags an 1814 vintage sheet music of Beethoven’s Symphony No.3, from Germany, The over two centuries old book is priceless and the person who lost it is definitely crying because of the loss. Not only is it a piece of history, but it is also extremely expensive.
