Things are just getting started with the coronavirus and while there are many reasons that point out many more people will be infected and die from the virus, if you compare it to previous pandemics, it actually looks less frightening.

The 1957 H2N2 flu killed 1.1 million people (0.04 percent of the global population at that time), the 1918 Spanish flu was responsible for the death of 50 million people, the black death killed 75 million people (almost 17 percent of the global population at the time). Not so scary now, huh?
