Hardwood and laminate floors
As you probably know, hardwood and laminate floors should be water resistant but cleaning them with water can cause damage in the long run. So, you better opt for something else that is efficient and can make them shine again.
“The proper way to clean a wood or laminate floor is to use a flat microfiber mop and spray-on cleaning solution with a spray bottle a little bit at a time,” says Smith. “Most flooring manufacturers make specific recommendations on which product they recommend on their flooring.”

Thank you SO much for this information!! I’ve been cleaning some things ALL wrong, but now I know!! Just the other day, we had trouble with our stove
burner not working. But guess what??? I had cleaned it with water!!! No more!
Learned the same lesson. 🙂
Very informative and practical. Merci beaucoup.
I am a silk dying artist. I use water all the time to clean silk items. The key is total immersion. You are right though that spot cleaning will leave water stains. Silk fibers are just about the strongest out there short of kevlar. I wash silk clothing in the washing machine and dry on delicate cycle. Heavier silk clothing though does better with dry cleaning.
