Electronic devices
Of course, electricity should never come into contact with water and you should apply this rule even to electronic devices when it comes to cleaning them. In fact, you should never use any liquid directly onto electronic devices. Instead, try to spray a cloth with some cleaning products and then use that cloth. However, if you don’t want to do so, you can opt for wipes or other cleaning products that have been made especially for electronics.
“For the most part, you should only dry dust electronics,” says Smith. “If you do have to clean something that will not come off with a dry cloth, get your cleaning cloth just slightly damp with a light-duty cleaning product then clean the electronics. Never spray any liquid directly onto electronics.”

Thank you SO much for this information!! I’ve been cleaning some things ALL wrong, but now I know!! Just the other day, we had trouble with our stove
burner not working. But guess what??? I had cleaned it with water!!! No more!
Learned the same lesson. 🙂
Very informative and practical. Merci beaucoup.
I am a silk dying artist. I use water all the time to clean silk items. The key is total immersion. You are right though that spot cleaning will leave water stains. Silk fibers are just about the strongest out there short of kevlar. I wash silk clothing in the washing machine and dry on delicate cycle. Heavier silk clothing though does better with dry cleaning.
