William Howard Taft wasn’t really stuck in a bathtub.

There’s a popular myth regarding the 27th President of the United States… Many of us were taught that William Howard Taft got stuck in a bathtub. Well, it seems that we are all wrong. The story has a bathtub in it, but not how you would think.

He had a quite embarrassing accident during his presidency in a New Jersey hotel. Taft wanted to take a bath, and as his considerable body entered the bathtub, the water displaced flooding in the entire room, sending a cascade of water onto the heads of the guests below.

Calvin Coolidge was actually born on Independence Day.

Some could say that he was meant to be the 30th president of the United States… However, Calvin Coolidge wasn’t the kind of person who celebrated his birthdays. In fact, friends gave him the nickname “Silent Cal.”
