If you think working as a mail carrier is an easy job, think again! Between dealing with potentially dangerous dogs and putting up with mountains of snow, there are many things your typical postal worker would like you to know…
Of course, when you’re dealing with hundreds of households, it’s kind of difficult to relay your message, right?
Today we decided to make it easier for everyone involved. We’re going to go over 22 things your mail carrier won’t tell you, but you should know anyway!
Next time you bump into your friendly neighborhood mailman, give them a friendly wave, ask about their day and, if you can, make their jobs just a little bit easier!
There’s a Reason They Want to Avoid Your Dog
You might think Fido is the cutest, friendliest dog on the planet… but your mail carrier doesn’t know that, and they don’t want to test the theory either.
As many as 5,500 workers were bitten in 2013 alone- that’s 18 bites per day. So, please, take no offense when your mailman looks wary of your dog. You can offer to introduce them, but if they politely decline, don’t take any offense to it!
Those Pink Envelopes Are a Nightmare

Consider using a typical envelope and write your note on a red or pink piece of paper instead!
