8. The XFL
Do you remember about the XFL? It was an American football league that actually took the field only one season back in 2001. The defunct league was best known for allowing football players to add their nicknames on the jerseys.
For example, Rod Smart, the former professional American football, had the words “He Hate Me” on his jersey.
Last year, a new XFL emerged with teams like St. Louis Battlehawks, Tampa Bay Vipers, and the Seattle Dragons, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, it filed for bankruptcy in April. Maybe we will see it next year, as the famous actor Duane “The Rock” and some investors purchased the new XFL league.
