8 Beautiful Plants That Just Want to Kill You!

White Snakeroot

Although the effects of this next plant come to human via a secondhand source, secondhooves if we’re being technical, that should not diminish the danger of this small white flowered plant. Found in North American, this flowering herb can appear perfectly harmless, but the white snakeroot (Ageratina altissima) proves that size doesn’t matter.

This diminutive plant contains a potent unsaturated alcohol known as tremetol and causes a disease in humans called milk sickness. It starts its journey in wooded areas of the Midwest where grazing cows ingest unaware of its effects. The cow soon finds out as it causes them to develop a syndrome called the trembles, due to the fact the cow is now trembling and shaking violently. When the contaminated milk is then consumed by humans, a whole world of pain and suffering awaits them.

The list of symptoms is far from a pleasant one should you be unfortunate enough to drink a nice glass of tremetol milk. First it starts with a loss of appetite, weakness of the body and stiffness of your muscles, quickly followed by gastrointestinal distress, vomiting, and constipation. Once the tremetol has completely ravaged your body, its next act is to put you into a coma. There will sadly be no encore for you.
