’90s Trends That Are Having A Comeback

4. Platform Shoes

These ones seem to have been around for ages, and despite never quite leaving, they have had one of the strongest comebacks. The platform shoes can now be found everywhere, even sneaker brands are jumping on the bandwagon and making platform versions of your favorite staple shoes. Not only that, but it seems like high soles have started to be the norm, from boots and sneakers to sandals and crocs (yes you read that right).

We are not quite sure how good of a comeback this is, as if the platforms end up being too high we can already predict the amount of sprained ankles that are going to appear. But this ends up being a common sense moment and in the end, if people want to be that tall, they should know the risks that come with very high platforms.

5. Corduroy

Corduroy has been one of the trends on this list that has had a very sneaky comeback, as it started to slowly appear in stores before having a full fledged appearance. You can’t say you have not seen the occasional corduroy shirt or jacket appear in stores, only for the big chains to end up making full collections themed around the material.

You can now find almost any type of clothing made from corduroy, and popular brands like American Eagle have made sure they cash in on the trend and have since come up with everything corduroy: shirts, dresses, pants, jackets, overalls, shorts, hats and, you guessed it, bucket hats! Way to combine two trends into one!

6. Overalls

Denim overalls were a true hit back in the 90s, but ever since they have more or less been demoted to auto-repair shops and construction sites for adults, and they haven’t left the toddler’s closet otherwise. The last few years have seen an end to this mentality as overalls of all kinds, not only denim ones have made a comeback.

So much so that you can see their classier version, the jumpsuit, become even a staple on red carpets and at dinner parties. The overalls have a long way before they become fancy attire, but until then they are very comfortable for every day wear and you can find them in other more breathable materials, not just jeans!
