When MacDonald’s was founded by brothers Richard and Maurice McDonald in San Bernardino, California in 1940, they could never have known what a fast food behemoth it would become. Today it serves over 69 million customers daily in over 100 countries and has become an iconic symbol of Americana and a lot Americans have first hand experience of that. Why? Because One out of eight Americans have been employed by the fast-food giant at some point.

High Hoops

If you were asked which is the highest court in the land, your likely answer would be the Supreme Court of the United States, but you would be incorrect, well, technically. The ‘highest court in the land’ is actually the private basketball court in the upstairs gym of the Supreme Court Building. Originally designed as a storage room, at some point in the 1940s an unknown person decided to transform it into a gym. It began life as a tennis court but eventually became a basketball court.
