Fairmont Banff Springs, Alberta, Canada
Another majestic and isolated mountain getaway with more than its fair share of unnerving tales is the Fairmont Banff Springs. Most of its ghosts are said to lurk around the public areas rather than bedrooms, but don’t worry most of them are friendly, especially the spirit of Sam the bellman. The long-time employee of the hotel is said to still greet some guests decked out in period dress.
Then there’s the doomed bride who is said to have fallen to her death on a winding stone staircase in the 1930s while on her way to celebrate her wedding in the hotel’s grand ballroom. Her tragic spirit has been seen moving up and down the stairs and floating around the ballroom in her wedding gown.
