Stevie Wonder, Gloria Estefan, and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy

Who remembers this 1999 peculiar performance? It definitely stayed bright in our minds. The three make a very weird combination and they may not have been our first choices when it came to the performance, but in the end, if you look at it closely, it made a lot of sense. Back in the ’90s, each and every one of them was one of the biggest stars of the time!

Gloria Estefan paved the way for the following “Latin invasion”, where we got amazing Latino music for years to come, and headlining together with Stevie Wonder was an amazing showcase of bringing generations and genres together. Adding Big Bad Voodoo Daddy just consolidated the iconic performance in our minds and made for an even more memorable moment for the 90’s great start! They proved you do not need to sing the same genre of songs to be able to collaborate and create good music. And we believe this started a trend that is successful to this day!

U2

When performing at the Super Bowl XXXVI 2002, U2 had one of the greatest rock & roll live performances on TV. Having taken place just a few months after the tragedy that was 9/11, the Irish band managed to make a strong and emotional performance that made sure to reside into our minds even years after. Starting with “Beautiful Day” was iconic, only for them to follow up with “MLK” for a truly emotional moment as the names of the people who passed away in the tragedy were written on the giant screen. The performance ended with “Where the Streets Have No Name” for a truly unforgettable moment.

  1. Was this grouping put together prior to this last Superbowl at SoFi 2/13/2022. If so OK, but if it was listed afterwards then the person(s) putting this list together is a HATER(s), It was entertaining and flowed well… I could say more, but that show wasn’t Personal…. it was darn good… It deserved to be recognized as one of the BEST.
