6. Don Simpson: From Famed Film Director to Drug Problems to Passing Away on the Toilet
The brilliant mind behind Beverly Hills Cop and Top Gun? Yep, died on the toilet too! Don Simpson, an incredibly successful film producer was also a prescription drug addict which allegedly cost him a jaw-dropping $600,000 every month. At the time of his death, some 2,200 pills were found in his bedroom cupboard. If that’s not strange enough, they were all arranged alphabetically.
He was found dead in his bathroom on January 19, 1996, reading a biography of filmmaker Oliver Stone. The autopsy report found 21 different drugs in his system including stimulants, tranquilizers, sedatives, and antidepressants.
