Fried chicken: USA vs. Scotland
The U.S. doesn’t just pick fights with Germany and the Netherlands in terms of cuisine, oh no! We’re also in a battle against Scotland over fried chicken! We all know that while most Americans enjoy fried chicken, it’s the southern states that love it the most.
And let’s not forget the world famous Kentucky Fried Chicken, which has stolen the hearts of many people since 1952. But then again, the Scots are pretty adamant that it was they who first fried strips of chicken in fat before 18th century immigrants brought the recipe to American shores.
Alright, I’ll give them that. Scotland may have been the first place to fry chicken like that. But did they add the 11 herbs and spices? Didn’t think so!
