Shirt Loops
For most people, shirt loops serve no purpose. They don’t even look that aesthetically pleasing most of the time since they’re so small. But the truth is that they’re there to help you hang your shirt up.
More specifically, adding these loops to shirts originated in the Navy. Due to the limited space on ships, sailors used to simply hang their shirts on hooks. The practice continued in the 60s, with college kids using the loops to keep their shirts neat when they went to the gym!
Nowadays, we use hangers in order to avoid creasing, but in a pinch, the little loops sure are helpful!
