The little holes in airplane windows have given many first time fliers anxiety. But rest assured, they’re there for a reason, even if their existence seems counter intuitive.
They’re actually known as breather holes and they’re vital, even if they’re so tiny. They help the outer part of the plane handle pressure differences, especially when the vessel reaches higher altitudes.
In the meantime, it allows the cabin of the plane stay comfortable and safe throughout the flight. So the next time you see one, don’t worry, your flight isn’t compromised, and there’s no reason to ask the flight attendants about them!
