Dimples On Golf Balls
Balls come in many different shapes and sizes, especially the latter. The strangest of the bunch may be the one used in football, what with it’s slightly egg-like shape.
But the seemingly innocent and simply looking golf ball is also an oddity. Completely white and covered in dimples, the golf ball is iconic, but why does it have those dimples? Well, they’re there to make sure that the ball travels as fast as possible by reducing drag and ignoring turbulence.
It’s no wonder professionals are able to shoot them so far away, and while most of that has to do with skill, the shape of the ball itself is also a great help!
