#2 Tweet: A journalist made a racist joke before landing in Africa
Some people think that if they have, let’s say, 50 Twitter followers, their “secret” posts are safe with them. However, that’s not true, especially when you post something racist and offensive. During her 11-hour flight, a journalist, Justine Sacco, decided to joke about AIDS in Africa using the following words: “Going to Africa. Hope I don’t get AIDS. Just kidding. I’m white!”
We have a strong sense of humor, but this is definitely not a joke but something most of us would call bullying and racism. As no surprise, she was fired from her job, regretting her tweet for the rest of her life.
