Cup noodles are convenient and inexpensive that they’ve been this way for almost 50 years! Cup noodles hit American grocery shelves in September 1971. Momofuku Ando was the inventor. He was inspired to create them after watching many Americans struggling to break up blocks of instant noodles so they could actually fit inside a cup.
