22 Things Turning a Half-Century of Fame This Year

FedEx feels like it was founded hundreds of years ago, but the reality is different. The delivery services company was actually founded a half-century ago in Little Rock, Arkansas. And although it was founded in 1971, the company, then known as Federal Express, wouldn’t ship its first packages until 1973.

On this happy occasion, I want to thanks FedEx for saving me a lot of trouble multiple times!

Pocket Calculators

There are two possibilities… One: My ancestors were actually geniuses. And two: They were aliens with advanced technology. Because I cannot explain nor understand how someone can do math equations without using a calculator?!

It was only in 1971 when the first pocket calculator hit the market. According to the Vintage Calculators Web Museum, the first pocket calculator, a.k.a. the “Handy,” was $395 back then.
