The birth of Amtrak took place five decades ago, and now we can all enjoy 35 routes that connect approximately 500 cities in 46 states. During the 2019 fiscal year, the popular passenger railroad service carried a record 32.5 million passengers. However, the previous year’s numbers aren’t impressive for obvious reasons.
CT Scans
Can you imagine experiencing constant headaches for (apparently) no reason, and the doctor is unable to give you the right treatment because there are no CT scans??? Yeah, me neither, since CT scans have been with us for almost 50 years, as the first computerized tomography scan was performed in September 1971.
From detecting tumors to preventing other serious health conditions, CT scans are irreplaceable tools in today’s medicine. Therefore, thank you, Godfrey Hounsfield, for inventing the CT scan so we can have a better life.
