Spaghetti bolognese: UK vs. Italy
When you think of pasta, it’s hard to not think of Italy. But what about the spaghetti bolognese, specifically? Can the Italians really claim this one?
This dish was popular at dinner parties all across the UK during the 1960s. It has Italian roots, right? Well, many think it’s similar to Italy’s tagliatelle al ragù, but it’s not the same, and that’s why we’re having this debate today!
Nowadays, we usually cook these at home with rounded pasta as opposed to the flat pasta noodles the recipe used to call for. Add in some beef, tomatoes, veggies and some red wine and you’re done! Your stomach might be full, but you and I still won’t know who came up with it first!
