Women’s Underwear Pocket
You may have noticed that a lot of women’s underwear have ‘pockets’ called gussets. These are usually made from cotton, a breathable and non-synthetic fabric, so you’ll even find them on lace underwear.
The myth that they’re simply made out of excess fabric that manufacturers didn’t bother to stitch up can be dispelled by the fact that you’ll find underwear made primarily from one material, with the gusset still made out of cotton, though it’s true that in some cases, the same principles don’t apply.
In those cases, we assume this is done out of laziness or poor research, because the gusset is supposed to be there and it is supposed to be made out of cotton in order to prevent conditions such as urinary tract infections and yeast infections from occurring! To put it simply, it’s there to keep the downstairs area ventilated and dry.
