Plastic Cup Lids
Most of us use plastic cup lids every day, but likely not at their full potential. Ever notice how they have ridges? If you have, then you should know they’re not purely there to make the lid look more pleasing.
Cup lids are meant to also act like coasters, so the ridges are there to help keep your cup secure. You’ll notice how your cup slides into these ridges (or pops in, in some cases) very easily.
Essentially, they’re designed so that you won’t make a mess when you’re using the lid as a lid, but you’ll also avoid making a mess when you decide to not use the lid while you’re drinking. Neat, huh?
