In the vast majority of cases, cellphones are actually forgotten in the car, not left on purpose. However, it’s best to double-check before leaving your car. First of all, if your smartphone is visible from the outside of your car, it may be a temptation for thieves, causing more damage than its actual value.
Secondly, even if you think that you’re living in a safe and secure neighborhood, extreme temperatures can also affect your device. When exposed to cold temperatures, your cellphone could get damaged. As reported by Time Magazine, iPhones are designed to function in temperatures above 32°F.
If you leave your cellphone in very cold weather, you can expect shortened battery life and, sometimes, shattered glass.
