Arthur Treacher’s Fish and Chips

Do you remember Arthur Treacher? He was a British actor who gained recognition in our country in the mid-1960s. After making some money, Treacher decided to invest in his name by founding a restaurant chain called Arthur Treacher’s Fish and Chips.

In 1969, Treacher opened his first restaurant in Columbus and, by the late 1970s, the British actor and founder of Arthur Treacher’s Fish and Chips opened more than 800 locations nationwide. Unfortunately, success slips easily through fingers, and, as of 2019, only three of Arthur Treacher’s locations remained “alive.”

You can still find them today in the Cleveland area.
