Kenny Rogers Roasters

Founded back in 1991 by famous musician Kenny Rogers and former governor and KFC CEO John Y. Brown Jr., Kenny Rogers Roasters was loved (and still is) by many. In 1996, the chain restaurant reached its peak with approximately 300 locations in the U.S. and Canada, as well as Malaysia.

However, stiff competition from other popular restaurant chains offering quite similar menu items led to Kenny Rogers’ undoing. That’s why, back in 1998, the company shrunk in size, disappearing completely from U.S. ground.

Now, only an independent chain of what we knew as Kenny Rogers Roasters thrives in the Philippines and Malaysia.
