10 of the Weirdest People Who Have Ever Ran for President

Basil Marceaux

Another candidate who has a long track record of running for political office, and inevitably failing miserably, is Tennessee’s own Basil Marceaux. His 2010 run for president would garner him quite a bit of exposure due to his outlandish promises and the fact that he is quite insane (he has been hospitalized for observation at Tennessee’s Moccasin Bend Mental Health Institute twice).

Marceaux has been the defendant in 19 criminal cases and the fact many of the cases were concerning misdemeanor traffic violations, may have something to do with one of his campaign promises. Banning police officers from charging suspects for anything except vehicle moving violations. He does go even further on his website with the unforgettable and catchy slogan “VOTE FOR ME AND IF I WIN I WILL IMMUNE YOU FROM ALL STATE CRIMES FOR THE REST OF YOU LIFE!”.

    1. Wow, you must be a Democrat. He did more for this Country and its citizens than anyone will ever do. I bet you were never in the Military.
