10 of the Weirdest People Who Have Ever Ran for President

With the astonishing news that rapper and all round big mouth Kayne West has to decided to throw his hat (invariably a red one with the words ‘Make America Great Again’ emblazoned on it) into the presidential ring, it may come as no surprise that West is not the first less than sane person to run for the highest office.

The Constitution states that any presidential candidate must be a natural born citizen of the United States, a resident for 14 years, and 35 years of age or older. Being a sane, well adjusted human being is apparently not a prerequisite for becoming the Commander and Chief.

And wow, there have been more than a few individuals who have decided they could run the country better than the incumbent president. However, despite that being their right as an American citizen, the people on this list seem more suited to a jacket that fastens around the back rather than a pinstripe one.

So let’s take a look at some of the strangest people who tried (and thankfully failed) to run for president.
